With nearly 25 years of experience as an educator, I bring a wealth of knowledge and insight to my role as a counselor and coach for young people and adults. My career has been deeply rooted in international school environments, where I have worked closely with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. This extensive global exposure has not only broadened my perspective but has also cultivated in me a strong sense of cultural humility and understanding, allowing me to connect meaningfully with individuals from all walks of life. Professional Experience
After graduating from college, I began my professional journey as a caregiver at a shelter for boys, where I developed a deep sense of empathy and commitment to supporting young people. Driven by a desire to explore the world, I set out on a backpacking adventure that eventually led me to discover the place I now proudly call home. During this time, I also worked as a ski instructor, blending my passion for teaching with my love of the outdoors. My enthusiasm for education and personal growth inspired me to pursue graduate studies in both education and international organizations. This academic path opened doors for me to teach at international schools in Switzerland, Aruba, Bolivia, and Egypt. After more than two decades of classroom experience, I transitioned into counseling and coaching, where I continue to empower individuals and help them navigate their unique journeys.

My counseling experience includes:
-
650+ counseling sessions conducted with international students and families
-
Licensed School Counselor (Pennsylvania PK-12)
-
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead with trauma-informed practice training
-
Multilingual support - English (native), French (C1), conversational Spanish & Dutch
-
Special Education certification for learning support and gifted education
-
Active member of the International School Counselors Association (ISCA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA)
My mission at Alpine Counseling is to offer a safe and supportive space for clients to share without judgement, explore their strengths, find clarity, and develop coping strategies to help them move forward confidently. I aim to empower individuals to improve their mental well-being, develop resilience, and build healthier relationships.
My Mission
Beyond Counseling
I teach English part-time in a small private school and coach Odyssey of the Mind teams through the Scout & Sage English Activities Center, which I co-founded with my wife. I also love my evening and weekend job as a taxi driver for my two daughters to and from their activities. In my free time, you'll find me hiking or skiing in the Swiss Alps, pursuing further professional development and education, and enjoying time with my family and friends.
